9 Tips for Natural Hot Tub Maintenance
Having a "natural" hot tub or spa is much more than just adding enzymes or mineral cleaners. If you want to reduce your dependency on chemicals, then you have to take some action. Here are a few simple steps that you can follow to maintain your Natural hot tub.

1. RUN THE PUMP LONGER

Running the pump for long periods of time can cause the water to get funky quickly. To keep the system running smoothly, run your circulation at 3x as much as do most people. Also, run your pumps at high speed most days to aerate the water and loosen any filmy deposits.

2. SHOWER BEFORE USING

Aside from being a great place to relax, a natural hot tub is also important to maintain. To avoid getting in trouble, take a deep shower before going in. Also, ladies, don't put on make-up and hair before going in the bath.

3. NEW SPA FILTER EVERY YEAR

A natural spa doesn't use chemicals or require bromine or peroxide sanitizers. Instead, more stuff has to be filtered out of the water to keep the system working. It's usually a good idea to replace the filter cartridge once a year.

4. CLEAN YOUR SPA NATURALLY

A simple and effective way to keep your cartridge and jets clean is to mix some vinegar with water. It's also a great way to remove dirt and other particles from your filter and jets.

5. KEEP WATER BALANCED

It's also important to keep the water balanced. If the pH gets too high, it can cause algae to develop and grow. Keep it at around 7.2 to 7.4, and always check it before you go in the water. If there are more people using the spa, it will go up.

6. ADD ONLY GOOD FILL WATER

Your tap water may not be the best source of water for your spa, especially if it has chloramines or other harmful chemicals. To avoid this, use the Pre-Filter before filling up the tub.

7. MAINTAIN PURIFIERS

The Del Ozonator and Nature2 mineral sticks are both working properly. However, do not use chlorine or bromine tablets in your hot tub. To ensure both are working properly, replace them as needed.

8. MPS SHOCK AS NEEDED

Non-chlorine shock is usually used for spa visits. Usually, I use it for once a week. If you don't use the MPS shock at least 1-2x a month, your water starts to look gray and dull.

9. DRAIN / REFILL MORE OFTEN

Also, this is not a green or eco-friendly project. However, sometimes, the water has to be changed. It gets so crowded that some of it ends up as garbage.

The first few days of spa water are usually dull and murky. As the water gets older, it becomes harder to maintain its cleanliness.

Natural Spa maintenance doesn't involve going to a spa or getting a monthly treatment. It's more work and involves multiple layers of care.

It's possible to maintain a spa or a hot tub with very few chemicals! Just make sure that the chemicals are used sparingly!
